The Sidewalk Samaritan Coat Club
Because of the great need for warm outerwear, and the cost of purchasing new coats, Sidewalk Samaritan accepts coat donations year-round. We encourage individuals and groups/clubs to join together to conduct a coat drive, especially as the cooler weather approaches and people are evaluating their older outerwear and purchasing new coats. Coats can be shipped to our larger storage facility or a drop-off can be arranged for our NYC storage area.
- * Please only donate coats that are in clean & wearable condition: no major rips, stains, broken zippers or missing buttons
- * Please separate coats into male & female & child (if neutral - pack with male coats)
- * Pack into heavy weight plastic bags that have been labeled: “Women’s coats”, “Men’s
The Sidewalk Samaritan Footwear Club
Comfortable, well-fitting footwear is probably the single greatest need of people who spend much or all of their time on the streets. Because of this great need for footwear, and the cost of purchasing new shoes & boots, Sidewalk Samaritan accepts shoe donations year-round. We encourage individuals and groups/clubs to join together to conduct a footwear drive and to share the time and expense of gathering, sorting & transporting footwear to Sidewalk Samaritan. Footwear can be shipped to our larger storage facility or a drop-off can be arranged for our NYC storage location. We gratefully sneakers, shoes, and boots for men, women & children. Unfortunately, we cannot accept women’s high-heel or dress shoes.
- * Please only donate shoes that are in reasonably clean & wearable condition: no major rips, holes, broken zippers or eyelets or soles which have holes or are not well-attached.
- To make our distribution of shoes more efficient and less chaotic, we request that each pair of shoes or boots be donated as follows: rubber-banded or tied together and labeled with a piece of paper as to type and size (e.g., men’s 9 1/2, child’s 2, women’s 7 1/2). If there are many shoes, they can be placed into separate bags or boxes for men, women, and children.
